Philosophy:  Core Principles for Success

In our quest to support our clients in quickly achieving the results they desire we have found several core principles to be central to creating and sustaining high levels of organizational and individual effectiveness.

Leadership
We believe the state of consciousness of the organization’s leaders is the most influential factor in creating and sustaining healthy, thriving companies.  Performance Partners’ processes assist executives in developing the awareness, courage, integrity and practices that create leadership credibility and effectiveness.

Breakthrough Thinking
As individuals come together, their personal assumptions and beliefs influence others on the team.  Depending on the power (personal and positional) of the people involved, a shared paradigm is created (a subset of the corporate culture).  This shared perspective powerfully influences what the team pays attention to both in the external environment and internally in the company.  From this shared mindset strategies are selected, key decisions are made and the organization structure and culture emerge.  New breakthrough strategies, structures and systems emerge only when people shift they way they think, how they perceive the situation, and what they believe to be true.  Expanding consciousness or awareness expands leadership options and effectiveness.

We support the executives in expanding awareness by honing their ability to learn rapidly.  We help structure meetings to support effective decision-making processes.  This includes making time for reflection, true dialogue, exploration of assumptions, authentic communication and addressing divergent views effectively.

Partnership
Creating healthy working relationships with people at all levels in the organization, customers and stakeholders is crucial to rapid implementation of strategies and results.  Performance Partners seeks to build partnership with our clients as well as foster partnership building at all levels of the organization.  We believe that the breakdown in partnership and trust is a root cause of poor communication, faulty assumptions and customer dissatisfaction. We support the team in deepening relationships with each other and understanding the importance of creating powerful networks.  Executives increase their capacity to build trusting relationships and address the breakdown of trust clearly and authentically.

Inclusive Decision Making
Implementing change rapidly and effectively requires the commitment and support of those who are critical in implementing the change.  We believe that involving people in the decisions that impact them enriches the quality of the decisions by increasing awareness of multiple perspectives.  It also accelerates implementation because those involved understand the need for change and have ownership in the change strategy.  We support leaders in learning how to create a “healthy hierarchy” for decision- making.

Vision
The cornerstone of partnership at all levels is clarity and alignment to the desired end results.  Focusing on vision and goals lifts actions above problem solving to creating desired results.  We support our clients in creating shared, inspiring visions and in developing ways to achieve them.

Systems Thinking
A “systems” perspective is crucial in being effective in every leadership role from determining organization direction and increasing performance results to creating a healthy organization culture. The ability to see the “whole” company as a set of interdependent elements as well as the “invisible” forces generated by assumptions and beliefs (mental models), empowers the executive team in understanding the impact and ramifications of differing actions.  Soliciting the view of many people in the system is understood as a key component for quality decision-making.
